THE HUMAN CONDITION
My work presents a different perception of the human mind through an abstract portrayal of the human figure, creating a world that is distorted, psychedelic and emotional. I create my perception of how I view the human condition. It is fragile and constantly adapts to environments, therefore having a significant impact on us physically, psychologically, and emotionally.
The paintings I create have an ethereal presence, how light touches on human skin, the portrayal of warping the human body that is constantly struggling to adapt to its environment through abnormal shapes and forms. I focus mainly on the portrayal of the eyes and the human face as they’re both windows into the soul and represent how we, as humans with different conditions, see the world, present ourselves, and interact with those around us.
I’m fascinated by how oil paint, painted on different surfaces, can create a bond between the surface and the concept, capturing emotion from each single stroke. Some of my works are painted onto canvas and MDF board. I enjoy presenting and exploring my own emotions at the present moment and portraying them in an abstract form, seeking therapy and self-reflection within myself. I am passionate about understanding the human condition, making my practice centered around this principle, providing a safe space to escape from reality for a single moment in time. As I lose myself in my practice, i want people to lose themselves within my paintings.
My paintings explore figures and the human condition, raising awareness around mental health conditions and identity within the human experience, painting a semi-realistic form that also reflects my own experience with mental health.

"My sketchbook is another form of voice, specifically the rough visual tones of my voice, I paint people and facial expressions to help me better understand the purpose of human communication as well as establishing the concept of surrealism in a fanatical world."
